Hello from beautiful Colorado Springs, Colorado!

As we near the end of summer, we hope you are enjoying fond memories of relaxing vacations and time spent outdoors with your loved ones.

TAEUS has had a busy several months. We’ve compiled a selection of our recent and ongoing projects into this new edition of the TAEUS Times—fresh off the press! May the following highlights of our areas of expertise pique your interest in how we can support your team in achieving its goals and objectives for 2025.

Reverse Engineering

TAEUS investigated a terrestrial home satellite receiver that proved to be highly innovative, with its functional antenna embedded directly into the primary circuit board. The precision of the board’s manufacturing made this an especially intriguing project. The onboard flash device was simple to access, and the encryption protecting its data turned out to be predictable.

Prior Art Searches & Patent Evaluations

A client recently engaged us to perform worldwide searches for patents available for purchase. They understand that only the strongest patents generate meaningful revenue in the U.S. market. They also recognize that only the most experienced forensic engineering team can identify patents best suited for enforcement.

At TAEUS, we know that selected patents must feature minimal prior art, apply to numerous existing products that illustrate clear technical similarity, and withstand rigorous technical investigation. This ensures the production of strong, convincing evidence—making negotiations easier and helping our clients avoid costly litigation.

IP Sales & Licensing

TAEUS has also re‑engaged with its long-standing customer base worldwide, offering not only our classic reverse engineering services but also a marketplace for patent sales. Strong patents do sell—when matched with the right customer who needs them to support and strengthen their business.

Have you ever considered the role of intellectual property in disaster relief? Around the world—in Gaza, Somalia, Sudan, and elsewhere—civil unrest and natural disasters regularly create urgent humanitarian crises. The U.S. also faces significant needs following hurricanes, tornadoes, and floods. Delivering water and cooking oil—yes, cooking oil—quickly to those affected is essential to sustaining life.

TAEUS is actively pursuing licensees for breakthrough technologies that disperse water and cooking oil uniformly across large geographic areas, eliminating the need for pallet drops that depend on advance teams or pre‑set drop zones. Contact us to discuss this exciting licensing opportunity.

Patent Litigation

Software copying and software patents have recently taken center stage. Imagine this scenario: A company spends years developing proprietary software—only to have it miraculously duplicated in just two weeks by a competitor. Adding to the suspicion, one of the competitor’s founders once worked at the original company.

While pursuing justice through proper legal channels is always essential, timing is critical. Acting quickly—and with an element of surprise—helps ensure that vital evidence is preserved before it can be altered or erased. Contact TAEUS for expert guidance and hands‑on support to secure the right data and strengthen your case.
